Pot Holders

Pinterest! Pin It

I made some pretty easy quilted pot holders.   These are a great way to try out your quilting skills.  I used a basic pattern but you could really jazz it up.  Here are a ton of ideas.5 layer sandwich – the top is the quilted square, next is an aluminum sprayed fabric which is heat resistant, 2 regular quilt batting and the last one is the back side of the pot holder.

Yup, I had to try them out right away! So I made some cranberry muffins.

Sewing Cover

I’ve been finding my sewing machine covered in dust since moving into the city.  The other day I found a bed sheet at a second hand store – just perfect for making a cover from.

Crafting is serious business.

French Linen Placemats

Two summers ago my husband and I went to the countryside of France for our honeymoon.  We stumbled upon some pretty awesome street markets.  I found some great linen fabric and this Christmas break I had some time to use the fabric to make some place mats. I can’t wait to use them tonight!

This is where we stayed.  Not to brag but… couldn’t have been more romantic.

Also featuring our vintage silverware we scooped up at a market in Germany.  They probably should be polished… or maybe I like them a bit tarnished.
